Manufacturers in China are capable of constructing a million-ton two-stage facility to produce DME, with full intellectual property rights. Over the recent years, a lot of efforts have been put into the segment. The capacity in 2002 was 31,800 tons, with an around 20,000 ton output. And the figures in 2006 were 480,000 tons and 320,000 tons respectively, up 97 percent and 96 percent, respectively. A lot of more facilities will help put the capacity figures to up to over 15.8 million tons by 2010.
A study on the critical technologies include: fuel supply and ejection, fuel optimization and further reduction of NOx; problems of less viscosity, abrasion and leakage; compatibility with rubber; engine durability and reliability; formulation of the standard. |
